Where the Epic 1600 reset the standard for the Relentless line, the Z evolution rebuilds its front end around a JFET input stage — the design philosophy D'Agostino introduced with the Momentum Z — and lifts rated output to 2,200 watts into 8 ohms, rising to 3,200 into 4 and 6,400 into 2 with adequate mains.

The point of the Z input stage is not power for its own sake. Its ultra-high input impedance lets the amplifier draw substantially more current from the Relentless Z Preamplifier, strengthening the electrical coupling between preamplifier and amplifier so the two behave as a designed pair rather than two components joined by a cable.
