Product Details

Description

The Momentum MxV Integrated Amplifier is Dan D'Agostino's complete Momentum system in a single component — the front-end technology of the Momentum C2 preamplifier joined to the power section of the MxV amplifiers, delivering 250 watts per channel that double to 500 into 4 ohms and 1,000 into 2. It exists for listeners whose priority is Dan D'Agostino's character in a form that asks for exactly one position in the rack.

What matters is what the integration does not cost. The preamplifier and power stages are the program's own, not simplified derivatives — the output stage carries 28 Relentless-sourced transistors per channel on copper heatsinks — and isolation is taken seriously enough to require two interlocking chassis: the audio section and its power supply join through 30-pin, 30-amp gold-plated connectors, keeping the 2 kVA transformer physically and electrically away from the circuits doing the listening. Meanwhile the connection that matters most — preamplifier output to amplifier input — becomes a direct internal path, eliminating the cable and connector anomalies separates must manage.

The platform is modular: an optional Digital Streaming Module adds coaxial, optical, USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi with Tidal and Qobuz built in, and an optional phonostage module supports low-output moving-coil cartridges with over 60 dB of gain and loading from 100 Ω to 47 kΩ — so the one component can genuinely be the whole system's electronics.

That question is best settled by ear. Momentum separates run daily in both showrooms on Wilson loudspeakers, which means the integrated can be judged against the C2-plus-monoblock chain directly — same loudspeaker, same room, same afternoon. Tell us what it will drive and we will set up exactly that comparison; it is the fastest honest path to the right decision.
