Product Details
The Burmester BX100 is the compact three-way floor-standing loudspeaker of the Burmester range — Signature Line voicing, the Air Motion Transformer tweeter, and the multi-driver balance of its larger siblings, in a form engineered for smaller listening rooms. It is Burmester's refusal to let room size dictate a compromise in character.
Keeping a three-way architecture at compact scale is the meaningful choice here. A dedicated midrange driver — rather than the two-way shortcut most compact towers take — preserves the separation of voices from bass foundation that the Signature Line's presentation is built on. The AMT tweeter carries the same top-octave speed and openness as the BC150 and BC350 above it, so the family resemblance is not cosmetic: a listener moving between rooms in a multi-system home hears one house voice at three scales.
The BX100's natural context is the room where a BC150 would physically and acoustically overreach — the study, the media room, the second residence — driven by a 232 integrated as a two-component system, or by Reference electronics where the compact room happens to belong to an uncompromising listener. Both are legitimate; the loudspeaker does not care which logic brought it there.
Against the B18 below it, the BX100 is the step from compact two-way into genuine three-way floor-standing presentation. Against the BC150 above, it is the honest answer for the smaller room. Hear the family in Scottsdale or Tempe and let the room you actually have make the decision — walk in during business hours or book ahead.
