The top of the B-Series — three-way floor-standing tower with side-firing woofer and mechanical bass adjustment for the room.

Product Details

Description

The Burmester B38 is the top of the B-Series — the latest addition to Burmester’s slim-and-timeless loudspeaker line, and the model that scales the B18’s engineering approach up to a genuine three-way floor-standing tower. The three-way principle here involves a side-firing woofer, achieving a slim and elegant design that integrates into a wide range of living environments while delivering impulsive, powerful bass reproduction the smaller B-Series loudspeakers cannot match.

The screwless integrated front panel accentuates the slim shape and makes the loudspeaker look less mechanical and more like an elegant item of furniture. High-quality matt lacquer or selected veneers finish the aluminium fronting, and cabinet finishes are standardised across the B-Series so a B38 in a room with a B18 or B28 reads as one design language.

Two options are provided for individual room adjustment: a rear two-stage switch causes a wide-range bass roll-off of 1–3 dB between 150 Hz and 37 Hz, and a porous foam cylinder inserted into the bass reflex tube can influence the bass response mechanically. This is unusual at the tier — most loudspeakers at this scale rely on placement alone — and it gives the installer real tools to match the loudspeaker to the room without depending on external DSP correction.

At $35,000 the pair in current Burmester pricing, the B38 is on demonstration at the Scottsdale showroom. Walk in during business hours or book ahead for a prepared listening session against the specific electronics you are considering pairing it with — the B38 is the B-Series loudspeaker most system buyers actually build around, and the audition is the honest way to hear what the tier offers.
