Burmester B28 Loudspeaker

The Burmester B28 is the middle of the B-Series — introduced in 2022 to complement the B18 below and the B38 above, and to sit in rooms where the B18 would run short of scale but the B38’s floorplan would overreach. It uses a front-firing woofer pair rather than the B38’s side-firing driver, keeping the two-and-a-half-way to three-way architecture in a smaller footprint that fits more room configurations.

The design language is the B-Series signature: clear lines, screwless integrated front panel, slim proportions that integrate easily into living environments. High-quality matt lacquer or selected veneers finish the aluminium fronting. As with the rest of the B-Series, cabinet finishes have been standardised across the range so the family visually coheres in a multi-loudspeaker installation — a B18 stand-mount, a B28 floor-stander, and a B38 flagship can share a room and read as a single design language.

In a Burmester system, the B28 partners naturally with the 032 integrated amplifier, or with a 035-plus-036 separates configuration, or with the 088 preamplifier and 216 power amplifier for a Top Line electronics chain. It also serves as a mid-tier main loudspeaker in Burmester architectural installations paired with the InWall S&C surrounds and InWall Woofer.

At $27,000 the pair in current Burmester pricing, the B28 is available to order at LMC and configurable against the specific room. The B18 and B38 are on demonstration at the Scottsdale showroom; the B28 sits between them in scale and voicing.
