Burmester 161 All-in-One

The Burmester 161 All-in-One is the Top Line’s digital all-in-one system — technologically based on the 151 Musiccenter platform, but with an integrated power amplifier so it drives loudspeakers directly with no external amp required. It anchors the Phase 3 system Burmester offers as a complete integrated statement, and it is the answer for Burmester system architectures where every stage from digital source through to loudspeaker terminals lives in a single chassis.

The engineering premise of the 161 is that a well-designed all-in-one solves two problems at once. First, it removes an interconnect and a power cord from the signal path, which is a real and often audible simplification. Second, it delivers the streaming-DAC-preamplifier-amplifier chain engineered specifically to work together, rather than as four boxes tuned in isolation. Below the 161 sits a separate compartment that can house connected devices like a set-top box, satellite receiver, or streaming player, integrating them within the design ambition of the entire system.
