Burmester 035 Preamplifier

The Burmester 035 is the entry point to Burmester preamplification — the Classic Line’s control stage, engineered to carry the balanced XLR signal architecture and DC-coupled discipline of the Reference Line into a chassis a wider range of Burmester systems can afford. For a Classic Line system where the flexibility of a dedicated preamplifier is preferred to an integrated approach, the 035 is the natural choice — and delivers the same fundamental preamp design philosophy as the Top Line 088 and Reference Line 077 at the Classic Line price.

Three XLR inputs and two RCA inputs cover a typical Classic Line source count, with two balanced XLR outputs and one RCA output for monoblock or bi-amp configurations. Signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 105 dB. The chassis is the Classic Line signature: brushed aluminium body with a flawlessly chrome-plated front panel, chrome-plated operating controls, and the clean uncluttered lines that mark every Burmester component regardless of tier.

Every 035 is hand-assembled in Berlin and subjected to the same rigorous quality-control process applied to the Reference Line. In an all-Burmester Classic Line system, the 035 partners naturally with the 036 or 956 MK2 power amplifiers as a two-piece stereo separates configuration, and provides the upgrade path toward Top Line or Reference Line amplification without changing the preamp chain — the Burmester system architecture accommodates evolution rather than forcing full-chain replacement.
