Ascendo The64 SUB PRO

The64 replaced the 50-inch model in July 2025. As with The100, the number went up without the driver getting proportionally larger — Ascendo switched to the professional convention of measuring the driver basket rather than the cone. It is the second-largest cinema subwoofer driver built, behind only The100.

The generational change was in the moving parts. A quad-spider suspension, repositioned and rebuilt with different fabrics and resins, allows more excursion with higher compliance and quieter operation at the extremes of travel. A single-piece surround with revised geometry supports that longer stroke, and multi-density internal damping lowers the system's resonance frequency and Q. Cabinet depth went to 100 cm to extend the response further down.

The practical addition matters as much: a field-replaceable re-cone kit. On a driver this size, being able to service it in the room rather than remove it is the difference between a repair and a demolition.

Enclosure is custom per room, minimum 2 cubic metres, built locally to Ascendo's specification — which also means the published output figures are an example rather than a promise. It runs on 10 to 22 kW of DSP-controlled amplification through Ascendo's Speaker Management Technology, and it is specified to stay in phase with the audible-range PRO subwoofers sitting above it.
