Description
The15 PRO PASSIVE ON WALL is the screen channel for a large room. A 15-inch axisymmetric point source is a great deal of radiating area to keep coherent, and the reason Ascendo can is the coaxial arrangement — the tweeter sits at the acoustic centre of the mid-woofer, so the two arrive together rather than a few centimetres and a few microseconds apart.
The crossover is where the PRO designation earns its name. Flat wound OFC copper air core coils and silver capacitors work with the enclosure and the driver as one system, and the audible result is impulse response: the loudspeaker starts and stops with the signal instead of ringing after it.
Each channel handles the full dynamic span a reference-level film demands, from a whispered line to an effect that moves air. It serves as left, centre and right in a large theatre, or as a surround in a very large one.
