HALO answers a question Ascendo's partners kept asking about the BLACK SWAN: could the same screen channel performance be had with less depth. The honest answer required starting over, because the low-crossover waveguide that makes the BLACK SWAN work does not scale down — so the point source concept was rebuilt from the ground up rather than shrunk.

The name refers to the circular form and to what the loudspeaker is meant to do, which is vanish. At 27 by 30 by 10 inches it occupies very little room for the output it produces, which is the whole argument in a cinema where the baffle wall depth was fixed before the loudspeakers were chosen.

It is a cardioid design, so radiation to the rear is substantially reduced — the energy that would otherwise bounce off the wall behind the loudspeaker and return late. French cleat brackets are supplied, with zero to fifteen degrees of adjustment for centre or left and right positions.
