Product Details

Description

The TR-1000 is Analog Audio Design's flagship record-and-play reel-to-reel machine — a 1/4-inch 2-track deck built to the same mechanical and electrical standard as the Golden Ear-winning TP-1000, with the addition of a full recording chain. For the studio, the mastering engineer, or the reference-tier home system that wants to make its own tapes from master sources, the TR-1000 is the current production point of entry to a new-build French machine at this level.

The transport is belt-driven with a DC servo capstan and Swiss-made low-torque DC reel motors, running to 30 cm reel diameter. Speed accuracy holds to ±0.05%. NAB and IEC equalization are switchable. Physical transport controls — forward, rewind, play, record — sit below a large touchscreen. Every operational parameter, from tape tension to end-of-tape auto-rewind, is settable from the touchscreen or via Ethernet from a tablet, phone, or web browser.

The cabinet uses classic reel-to-reel design language: wood, recessed side handles, dual VU meters on the front panel. Manufactured in Pleumeur-Bodou, Brittany.
