The TP-1000 Gold Edition is the premium finish variant of the standard TP-1000 tape player — mechanically and electrically identical to the Golden Ear 2024 winner, in a solid aluminum finish that reflects the level of build the mechanism inside represents. The rest of the specification is unchanged: 1/4-inch, 2-track, 15 or 7.5 ips, NAB and IEC equalization, Swiss-made low-torque DC motors, belt drive.
For the reference-tier system that wants Analog Audio Design's playback design with the exterior treatment to match, the Gold Edition is the deck. Manufactured in Pleumeur-Bodou, Brittany.
