Contact UsLinn’s reference active loudspeaker before the current Klimax 360 — driver-level amplification and Space Optimisation built into the chassis.
Product Details
The Linn Klimax 350 was Linn’s reference active loudspeaker prior to the current Klimax 360 — a floor-standing design that integrated driver-level amplification and Space Optimisation DSP correction directly into the loudspeaker chassis. Where most reference-tier systems require separate power amplification, the Klimax 350 collapsed that stage into the loudspeaker itself, delivering a level of tonal accuracy and room-corrected performance no passive loudspeaker can match without extensive room treatment.
The engineering rationale for an active loudspeaker at the reference tier is straightforward. Each driver receives amplification voiced specifically to its role — bass, midrange, treble — through Linn’s Exakt processing, with no passive crossover in the signal path between amplifier and driver. The DSP correction handles time alignment and phase across drivers digitally rather than through the compromises a passive crossover imposes. And Space Optimisation adjusts for the specific acoustic character of the listening room during setup.
The Klimax 350 is no longer in current production. It has been superseded by the Klimax 360, launched 2023 for Linn’s 50th anniversary — a complete ground-up redesign carrying the active reference concept forward with the Organik DAC platform, Pistonik bass motor system, and Linn’s first beryllium tweeter. Existing Klimax 350 systems remain fully supported by Linn’s Glasgow service operation.
For clients looking at a current Linn reference active loudspeaker, the 360 is the successor product — available for audition at LMC. Walk in during business hours or book ahead.
