Product Details

Description

The Momentum M400 MxV is the reference-tier monoblock at the heart of the Momentum program, in its current MxV revision. The MxV update is not a facelift: it carries advances accumulated across the Momentum and Relentless lines back into the M400 chassis — refinements to the output stage, the power supply, and the internal construction that have compounded since the original M400.

The construction is the program's signature: a fully complementary Class-A / Class-A/AB design, one chassis per channel, built around copper heatsinks and hand-machined aluminum with the copper-and-glass analog meter on the fascia. It is the amplifier most Momentum systems are actually built on — the working core of the line rather than its ceiling.

What distinguishes the M400 MxV at LMC is the range of jobs it is trusted with. In Tempe, a pair anchors the Reference Room's full-scale statement system, driving Wilson Alexx V behind the Momentum preamplifier — sourced by a Linn Sondek LP12 with Ekos SE and Radikal, and a Klimax DSM, through a Transparent Reference XL loom. In Scottsdale it does the quieter, harder job: powering the WAMM Master Subsonic pair beneath the WAMM Master Chronosonic itself — the low-frequency foundation of the most demanding system in the building.

An amplifier trusted at both ends of that spectrum — full-range reference duty in one showroom, the bottom octave of a WAMM system in the other — is the working definition of a reference monoblock. Both rooms are open for audition, and hearing the M400 MxV in each is the fastest way to understand why it holds the position it does.
