Product Details
The TT3 is the compact intermediate in Clearaudio’s tangential tonearm range — sitting between the TT2 above and the entry-tier TT5 below, and designed with a smaller footprint that fits Ovation- and Performance-tier turntable chassis where the TT2’s size and mass would be a mismatch.
The fundamental linear-tracking mechanism is the same one that runs through the entire Clearaudio tangential family. Purely mechanical precision drive — no servos, no motors, no air pumps. High-precision ball bearings run in a polished glass tube, delivering the extremely low-friction linear guide that is the whole point of the tangential architecture. Convenient in-place height (VTA) adjustment. The chassis is resonance-optimised, sized for compact mounting.
Because the stylus follows the record groove along the same straight-line tangent the cutting head traced when the record was mastered, horizontal skating force is virtually eliminated and no anti-skating compensation is required. The TT3 delivers the fundamental sonic advantage of Clearaudio’s tangential architecture — no lateral tracking error, no averaging — in a package that fits where the bigger TT2 will not.
The TT3 is best paired with an Ovation, Performance DC, or Innovation Compact turntable. Available on order at LMC Scottsdale — walk in during business hours or book ahead if the audition needs a TT3 heard against a pivoted alternative on your specific turntable, or if you would like the current US MSRP confirmed against Clearaudio’s German pricing.
