Product Details
The Titanium V2 sits directly below the Goldfinger Statement V2.1 in the current Clearaudio moving-coil range — the closest thing the company offers to a reference-tier cartridge without stepping into the flagship price bracket. Where the Goldfinger uses 14-karat gold for damping and mass, the Titanium V2 uses titanium: a material chosen for its exceptional strength-to-density ratio rather than pure weight.
The titanium is precision-machined into what Clearaudio calls its twelve-finger platform design — both the mounting plate and the generator housing feature twelve fingers of varying radii, which break up any single resonant mode the body might otherwise exhibit. Inside sit 24-karat gold coils in absolutely symmetrical configuration around Clearaudio’s patented eight-magnet Ring array, driven onto a Micro HD diamond stylus with 0.008 × 0.040 mm radii through a rigid boron cantilever. The result is a 95 dB dynamic range at 0.6 mV output and 50 Ω impedance.
Where the ceramic-coated aluminum-bodied da Vinci V2 pulls one way tonally, the Titanium V2 pulls another — more analytical, more forward, and typically better suited to complex orchestral or jazz repertoire where the extra clarity earns its keep. The two cartridges are direct siblings sharing the V2-generation architecture with different body materials as their distinguishing choice.
Titanium V2 is the right cartridge for a Master Innovation, Master Jubilee, or Reference Jubilee turntable paired with the Universal or the Statement TT1, where the listener wants moving-coil transparency taken to its practical limit at a price several times below Goldfinger.
