Description
The Performance DC Wood elevates Clearaudio's benchmark Performance DC with material and isolation technology borrowed from the higher-tier Ovation and Innovation series. A mass-loaded Baltic birch plinth, sandwiched between two massive anodized aluminum plates, controls resonance while giving the deck a striking natural-wood-and-metal aesthetic in silver or black anodize.
The drive system is pure Performance DC: a decoupled DC motor with low-noise bearings, a precision-machined aluminum sub-platter carrying a 40mm POM main platter, and Clearaudio's patented Ceramic Magnetic Bearing (CMB). Three Innovation-series locking, leveling aluminum cone feet provide the foundation. Speeds of 33, 45, and 78 rpm are selected by illuminated front buttons with per-speed trim adjustment.
An interchangeable armboard accommodates the Tracer, Satisfy Carbon Fiber, TT-5 linear arm, and other high-end tonearms; finished in Black/Natural or Silver/Natural. Available on order at LMC Scottsdale.
