Burmester 036 Power Amplifier

The Burmester 036 is the smallest stereo power amplifier in the Burmester range — a Classic Line descendant of the 909, 911, and 956 reference amplifiers, engineered to bring the family’s signature drive character to systems where the larger Reference or Signature amplifiers would physically overreach. Rated at 171 watts per channel into 4 ohms with a damping factor greater than 1,800, it delivers the current control and impulse response Burmester amplification is known by, in a chassis that fits real racks and real rooms.

Like every Burmester, the circuit is fully balanced and DC-coupled with a Class-A X-Amp input stage, and the amplifier is mono-bridgeable via external adapter to 300 watts into 4 ohms or configurable at the factory as a mono pair — the same monoblock upgrade path the Reference Line offers, delivered at the Classic Line tier. Silver-anodised cooling fins on both flanks carry the signature that identifies every Burmester power amplifier at a glance, and hand-assembly in Berlin with the same quality-control process as the Reference Line is standard.

In a Classic Line system, the 036 partners naturally with the 035 preamplifier as a compact two-piece configuration, or steps into a Top Line system as the power stage below an 088 preamplifier when the 216 would be more amplification than the room needs. It drives the B-Series loudspeakers (B18, B28, B38) comfortably and reaches into the BC150 territory when configured as a bridged mono pair.
