The Amati Supreme System

The Amati Supreme System

Sonus faber Amati Supreme on Burmester 911 MK3 monoblocks with the 218 in stereo, plus the 111 Musiccenter and Linn Majik DSM.

Why This Pairing Works

The Amati Supreme is a 4.5-way design: a 20 mm silk dome super tweeter and a 38 mm tweeter, each in its own waveguide, a 165 mm Camelia midrange sealed in a cork-damped chamber, and twin 220 mm woofers venting through the Stealth Ultraflex system. The crossover splits at 230, 300, 1,800 and 5,600 Hz. It reaches 28 Hz and runs to 40 kHz.

Burmester Top Line drives it. The 911 MK3 is the closest derivative of the reference 909 — four parallel output stages of eight matched transistors per channel, a 750 VA transformer behind 130,000 microfarads, 770 watts once bridged to mono. The 218 runs in stereo alongside the pair. Both are fully balanced and DC-coupled, with nothing in the signal path to colour what arrives.

Sources are Burmester's own 111 Musiccenter and Linn's Majik DSM.
