Description
PL-1 takes the same 5.7-inch Planar cabinet as PL-2 and solves the output problem differently: two front-firing 6.5-inch long-throw FibreAlloy drivers rather than one larger one, working against the same rear-firing 10-inch passive radiator, on a 300W Pure Class D amplifier. Extension is 31Hz at -6dB in room.
Two smaller drivers in place of one larger one keeps the cabinet shallow while spreading the work, and at 41.6 pounds the result is genuinely wall-mountable — brackets are supplied, and the mounting system is engineered to hold the precise standoff the passive radiator needs to work correctly. The right choice for smaller and medium rooms, for systems where discretion is part of the brief, and for two-channel setups where the objection to a subwoofer was never the sound but the object. Airship Direct wireless is built in and pre-paired.
