Product Details
The McIntosh MI502 is a 2-channel distribution amplifier built for the systems that live outside the main listening room — whole-home audio, outdoor zones, or as amplification behind the McIntosh WS500, WS300, and CS200 in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. Closed-loop digital switching amplification paired with a genuinely robust power supply delivers 500 watts into 8 ohms or 800 watts into 4 ohms — output most distributed-audio amplifiers don't approach.
As a Class D design it runs cool enough to skip fans entirely, and its 2U rack-mountable chassis (with removable mounting ears for non-rack installs) carries the same black-glass front and blue McIntosh watt meters as the reference amplifiers upstairs. Power Guard and Sentry Monitor protect the connected speakers; balanced and unbalanced inputs connect to any McIntosh preamplifier or the CR106 matrix.
