Description
The McIntosh MI254 extends the MI-series distribution-amplifier platform to four channels — two stereo zones, or four channels of a single larger room, from one 2U chassis. It shares the MI502's closed-loop digital switching topology and fanless Class D operation, scaled to drive McIntosh's WS500 and WS300 in-wall speakers or the CS200 in-ceiling speaker across a multi-speaker installation without stacking multiple stereo amplifiers.
Rack-mountable with removable ears for non-rack installs, carrying the same Power Guard and Sentry Monitor protection as the rest of the MI-series. For a whole-home system built around McIntosh's custom-install speaker line, the MI254 is the amplifier sized for a real multi-zone install.
