Product Details
Vortex belongs to HRS's Chassis Noise Reduction range — the products that work on the component itself rather than underneath it. An isolation base addresses energy arriving from the floor and the rack. It cannot do anything about energy generated inside the chassis by transformers, disc mechanisms and the panels of the case itself. Vortex addresses that second problem.
The set is the usual specification: three fixed-height V-150 units and one adjustable V-150R, supplied in a fitted case with the T-wrench. The adjustable unit exists because component tops are frequently not flat — vents, heatsinks, raised sections — and three fixed points plus one adjustable gives a stable arrangement on a surface that is not level. HRS is explicit that the isolation bases perform best when used in conjunction with the Chassis Noise Reduction products rather than alone, which makes Vortex an addition to a system that already has bases under it rather than an alternative to them.
