Description
DPX is the heavier of the two HRS damping plate designs — the same footprint options as the DPII at nearly twice the thickness, 1.3 inches against 0.7. It sits on top of a component to damp the chassis panels themselves, which on many designs are large flat surfaces free to resonate in sympathy with whatever the system is playing.
Three lengths are offered, all 4.5 inches wide: 5.5, 9.5 and 14.5 inches. Which one suits a given component, and where on the chassis it should sit, depends on the component — a disc player with a mechanism in the centre and a thin lid asks for something different from a heavy amplifier with a thick top plate. That is a conversation worth having with the specific component in front of you rather than ordering from dimensions alone. Available in black or silver.
