Product Details
The Unity is Clearaudio’s current-generation flagship pivoted tonearm — developed for the 45th-anniversary Master Jubilee turntable and publicly debuted at Florida International Audio Expo 2025. It is now offered as a stand-alone tonearm for any Clearaudio deck or a turntable from another maker.
Its defining engineering choice is the bearing. Unity uses a magnetically stabilised single-point sapphire bearing — the same fundamental concept Clearaudio originally designed for the Naim Aro Mk II tonearm, which the company developed for the Naim Solstice turntable. Unity refines that bearing with a more sophisticated housing that further reduces unwanted resonance, giving the arm the low-friction freedom of a classic unipivot without the wander that unipivots have traditionally suffered from. The armtube is a 10-inch monocoque carbon-fibre structure — chosen because it strikes a better balance between effective mass and tracing error than either a 9-inch or 12-inch design achieves alone.
Setup and daily use are equally deliberate. Micrometer VTA (height) adjustment happens on the fly during playback and locks for added rigidity when set. Azimuth adjusts at the armwand / bearing housing junction and also locks. Anti-skating is dynamic and magnetic — a series of magnets inside the bearing housing produces the correction, with no mechanical linkages, adjustable via a single thumb screw. Interchangeable counterweights, magnetically attached to a centre-of-gravity dual-outrigger sled, mate the arm cleanly to cartridges across every weight class. Signal cable is 1.1 m of Clearaudio Super Sixstream, terminated hardwired or DIN as ordered.
Unity weighs 790 g, tilts at 21.59°, and is finished in aluminium and carbon in black or silver. Available on order at LMC Scottsdale — walk in during business hours or book ahead if the audition needs Unity heard on your specific turntable with your specific cartridge, or if you want to discuss the Universal 9-inch or 12-inch trade-in credit Clearaudio currently offers on Unity upgrades.
Pivoted (radial) — magnetically stabilised single-point sapphire bearing, Clearaudio’s 2025 flagship pivoted design
Evolution of the magnetically-stabilised single-point bearing Clearaudio designed for the Naim Aro Mk II tonearm (Naim Solstice turntable); Unity refines it with a more sophisticated bearing housing that further reduces unwanted resonance
10-inch monocoque carbon fibre — balances effective mass and tracing error better than either 9-inch or 12-inch designs
Micrometer adjustment on the fly, lockable for added rigidity
Precision-adjustable at the armwand / bearing housing junction, lockable
Dynamic magnetic — series of magnets in the bearing housing, no mechanical linkages, adjustable via thumb screw
Interchangeable, magnetically attached to the counterweight sled — centre-of-gravity dual outrigger design allows optimal positioning for cartridges of any weight class
